We have ongoing needs such as a dollar store shopper(monthly) and food pick up/delivery (weekly). If you have reliable transportation and some free time please let us know if you would like to be on our pick up/delivery team! This is a shared responsibility so please contact Tondra to get on rotation! You can also be added to a list of reliable, trustworthy people we could call on when an unforseen pick up need arises!
Street Youth Ministry has Bible studies on Tuesday afternoons and a Devotional Breakfast on Friday AM for the street-dependent youth they serve. Volunteers are needed help set up for the Bible study/Devotional group, help prepare food, fellowship with the youth, and facilitate discussion (no advance preparation required). This is a great way to form relationships and share the Gospel.
Street Youth Ministry serves 80 homeless youth per week and offers Bible Studies, food, etc. Street Youth Ministry needs volunteers to work and interact with clients in their drop-in cooperative space. Duties include sorting mail, organizing clothing or other donations, greeting clients, helping with kitchen duties or cleanup tasks. After a small orientation, we do not require any special requirements. Our clients are between the ages of 18-28 and are street dependent. Bring yourself and what ever skill you may have and come meet some truly remarkable people with very remarkable stories.
Our client holiday party will be held on the 19th of this month! This is a rough time of year for most of our clients and our holiday party has become a very important and anticipated event. We are in need of volunteers to help with set up and clean up before and after and also just to lend a listening ear and bring some holiday cheer to our clients during the party! If you would like to be a part of this we would love to have you! Set up begins at 10 and the party starts at noon. We should be packed and cleaned up by 4 pm.
We have to pack up the Drop-In space at the end of every year while we are closed for our holiday break. We need volunteers on Dec 20th to help with this! We have to be packed and have all the furniture moved to the back by noon! Let us know if you, your family, or your small group can lend a hand :)
We provide a daily meal for our clients here at Street Youth Ministry and its a huge help to have pre-prepared casseroles, enchilads, spaghetti, tacos ect that we can take out of the freezer and pop in the oven. If you and your small group or family love to cook, whip up your faves, store in a freezer safe container, and bring them by the Drop-In any time we are open! There will be lots of happy tummies! (hint: our clients love ANYTHING with cheese!)
